We are more than a place to move and stretch.
Alexandra’s first professional hatha yoga school based on lineage of Iyengar & Ashtanga Yoga.
Our Philosophy
The Sorting Room exists to honour yoga as it was intended: an inner practice that steadies the mind, aligns the whole self and supports emotional and spiritual growth - not just physical fitness.
Here, yoga is not performance, but inquiry — a way of working from the inside out to soften the nervous system, quiet the mind, and reconnect with your true-self.
Rooted in traditional Iyengar and Ashtanga teachings within the Hatha Yoga lineage, our approaches bring together precise physical practice with breath, awareness, and attention to the inner experience.

Our Offerings
Everyone's path into yoga is different. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning to your practice, we offer a range of ways to learn, grow and become part of our community.
Group Yoga
The Sorting Room’s group classes are small, thoughtfully guided yoga sessions that blend the precise alignment and prop-supported approach of Hatha yoga practices, offering Iyengar and Knoff style classes. Each class is more than a physical practice, typically weaving together meditation, pranayama, asana, relaxation, and yogic philosophy.
Private 1:1 Classes
A private yoga class at The Sorting Room is a personalised, one-to-one session designed around your unique body, needs, and goals. Each class begins with a thoughtful check-in and is then guided with precision, clarity, and care. The practice is slow, structured, and highly supportive, with postures carefully broken down and refined through detailed instruction, hands-on guidance, and the intelligent use of props.
Memberships
A membership at The Sorting Room is not simply about attending more classes—it is a commitment to a way of practising, and a way of living. At its heart, yoga is not a one-off experience, but a steady, ongoing inquiry—one that unfolds through consistency, patience, and the willingness to return, again and again, to yourself. Membership supports this deeper process.

Hey there, I’m Zoe
I found Ayurveda and Yoga to help me cope better with the challenges in life. When I noticed the positive impact it had on my wellbeing, I decided to become a teacher of Ayurveda and Yoga.
Over the years I have immersed myself in over 800 hours of comprehensive training in the fields of Yoga, Ayurveda & Childbirth Education. My special interest is in supporting women transition through major life stages such as pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.
I bring this experience into my yoga practice to offer classes that improve your physical body, transform your mental and spiritual state and help cultivate a sense of motivation and confidence in life.
I am a mother of three girls and a wife to farmer - these two roles teaching me more than any qualification has ever done.
I am grateful to have the art and science of Ayurveda and Yoga to support me through this wild and wonderful current of life.
